As the Director of Erica Steele and Associates (since 1993) I work in the areas of:

• Senior manager mentoring
• Mentor training
• Career counselling
• Personal Counselling

My approach is holistic, seeking to address the mental, physical, social, spiritual and cultural dimensions of an individual, not just their professional persona.

Before this I worked for 5 years in documentary film making, and then with an international search organisation for 6 years. In addition to my Masters degree, and Diploma in Personal Counselling, I have New Zealand accreditation in training, accelerated learning and action method techniques. I follow the New Zealand Association of Counsellors Code of Ethics and have regular outside supervision of my work.

I believe personal/professional development services need to be tailored to the demands of the current workplace. Today's workplace is hallmarked by niche markets, many people working on contract or in small businesses as opposed to full-time work, and a competitive economic environment.

Making a contribution back to the community has always been an important aspect of my work, and I have done this both in city and rural areas. In addition, I support a number of not for profit groups with mentoring programme support and copies of The Mentoring Handbook.
